WATER BILLING CHARGES

Water Service Charges quarterly:

Residential customer - $40.95/meter each quarter

Multi-family customer - $24.80 per unit each quarter

Commercial customer - $90.20/meter each quarter

 

Water Consumption Charges:

Residential customer - $3.40/1,000 gallons consumed with an additional $2.20/1,000 gallons charged at the end of the fiscal year for all gallons consumed over 175,000 gallons for the year
Condominiums, Cooperatives, & 55 & Older Apartments - $3.40/1,000 gallons consumed 

Multi-family customer - $5.95/1,000 gallons consumed

Commercial customer - $5.95/1,000 gallons consumed

State Mandated Pollution Control Equipment (SMPCE):

All customers - $30/meter each quarter

Any over/under payment will be applied to the next quarterly billing.  Unpaid balances, exceeding $10.00, will be subject to the interest and penalties as follows, 5% for the first month after due date and 1% for each additional month.

All water rents shall be paid to the Village of Farmingdale at the Village Hall, 361 Main Street, Farmingdale, New York or to PO Box 220, Farmingdale, New York, in accordance to the following quarterly schedule:

August 1st billing payment must be received by August 31st

November 1st billing payment must be received by November 30th

February 1st billing payment must be received by February 28th

May 1st billing payment must be received by May 31st

You are responsible for the prompt payment of your water bill, if you do not receive your bill during the first week of the above schedule, you should contact village hall to find out the amount due. 

VILLAGES ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO “FORGIVE” DELINQUENT WATER CHARGES, AS THIS IS PROHIBITED BY THE NEW YORK STATE CONSTITUTION.

ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE DUE DATE TO PREVENT INTEREST AND PENALTIES.  FOR WATER BILLS POSTMARKS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. For your convenience there is a drop box to the left of the Village Hall front doors for your last-minute payments.

Unpaid water bills will be relieved to taxes along with a $250 surcharge according to the following schedule:

Town of Oyster Bay residents (not residing in the Village) – all water bills not paid by August 31st will be relieved on to their Town of Oyster Bay taxes.

Town of Babylon residents – all water bills not paid by August 31st will be relieved on to their Town of Babylon taxes.

Village of Farmingdale residents – all water bills not paid by March 31st will be relieved on to their Village taxes.
