The Farmingdale Fire Department proudly serves the Village of Farmingdale and its surrounding areas, providing vital emergency services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Staffed by dedicated volunteer firefighters, the department is committed to safeguarding life, property, and the wellbeing of the community through rapid response, education, and professionalism.

Main Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Fire Suppression:

Responding to fires—whether residential, commercial, or industrial—is a core responsibility. The department uses advanced equipment and coordinated teamwork to quickly contain and extinguish fires, preventing the spread of flames and reducing property damage.

2. Emergency Medical Services (EMS):

The department provides basic life support (BLS) and first-response medical care, stabilizing patients until ambulance services arrive. Quick EMS response can be critical in saving lives during cardiac events, accidents, or medical emergencies.

3. Rescue Operations:

Whether it’s a car accident, a person trapped in a building, or a storm-related emergency, the Farmingdale Fire Department is trained and equipped to handle a wide range of rescue scenarios.

4. Fire Prevention and Public Education:

Preventing fires before they start is a top priority. The department conducts school visits, community outreach, and fire safety programs to educate the public about fire hazards, emergency planning, and safe practices.
